and he knew he was wrong

In the book the kite runner, the main character Amir is torn between what he knows to be right and plain fear. Though fear is present in the midst of all sudden danger, that gives you no right to stand by while a nefarious crime is being committed, eseicall

atonement

Atonement: satisfaction or reparation for a wrong or injury; amends.

In life, there are going to be a lot on decisions and choices you make, most of them you wont be able to change. When bad things occur that you witness or have knowledge about, and you simply sit by and watch it happen, how much better are you next to the person who has committed the horrible crime. Atonement wouldn't be needed if when in the action of something wrong, people acted upon justice and truth and viced out against whatever harm was being done. Some things just cant be forgotten or forgiven, atonement isn't always an option, depending on how severe the issue was.

take cover!

I knew they would be coming for me soon. I tried to cover up my trail the best I could. Was I really out her all alone? Where had all the other soldiers gone? I could hear the gunshots and grenades going off simultaneously in the background. I thought I had been ducking and dodging around in circles until i heard the sound of a river perhaps in the distance. Yes, it was a river! A little out in the open, but I was wounded and far past parched to have not taken the chance to fill my canteen. I slowly drifted toward the flowing stream, carefully watching my back and my every sudden move. The water smelled s good from where i stood, gently leaning over it to wash over my face and hands. IT was so cool and refreshing, i nearly stripped down to my knickers before my mind to grasp reality and remember where I was. I filled my canteen and I was bout to turn, shots were being fired near by. The shots were clear and too close for comfort, not that there was anything comforting about my situation anyway. I sighed a long breath of fear and tired fustration as i jumped up and began to dart for a place of safely, a place to take cover.

evil should never prevail

All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good people do nothing.
- Edmund Burke

The quote above has a lot of meaning and power behind it. It simply but in detail makes a statement so true that it should not be take lightly. To me it means a few things. If all the good people in the world just sit around and do nothing about the corrupt injustices that happen occur without even batting and eyelash to make a difference, we are just as bad as the ones inflicting the evil for letting it win. Evil will always be the champion if we as good people don't try to stop it. hero's wouldn't be called heroes if they would merely just let the villains rob the bank and get away with the money. For all of that the proclaimed hero mines well had cracked the vault for them. Theres nothing wrong with wanting a little appreciation and glory, but want it for the right reasons, e the superman, not the kryptonite.

it's my choice

Life is all about the choices and things you decide. That's how you progress through things and learn from them. The decisions you make not only affect you but those around you. Sometimes we as people forget that the things we will will have any type of inflictions on anybody else but ourselves. Thus more we don't recognize that we could be hurting someone or just the opposite making someone extremely happy. I'm not proud of the most of the choices I've made in my short life, but i have and am continuing to do things to help change the path i cleared for myself. As i am about to enter college, i realize it's past time for me to grow up and the decision i make for the future will be forever set in stone.

spring break

I'm sad that my spring break had to come to such a short end. Though it was short, i did have some fun. I spent a majority of it with my friends doing things we prob lay shouldn't have done. I also hung out with my little brother who really isn't so little considering the fact he's 15 going on 16 and nearly 7 feet. I enjoyed with my time him because since he moved with my dad i rarely get to see him. I got t spend time with my step mom to who is due any minute now to have a set of twins, a boy and a girl. I'm excited for her because these are her first kids. I don't plan on changing any diapers. The best part of my break as corny as it sounds, i finished reading the second book to the Twilight Saga and got more than half way through the third one. I'm sad that there is only one book left after the third one, but the second movie will be out in November!

illustration (10)

I picked this picture to capture the book in its entire meaning. The book though full of tales and triumph, is about two troubled hearts finding love in the strangest of places and situations. To not care about anyone but each other and what you have at that very moment and what will come of thee in due time. The passion in their eyes as they deeply gaze into each others souls forever intertwining in the aroma of lust and passion. This love will do nothing but prosper despite the issues thrown in their path.

key quote (9)

"And So the lion fell in love with the lamb."
"What a stupid lamb."
"What a sick masochistic lion."
-Edward & Bell

This quote was the best in the book to me. It explains the pair with such simplicity yet desire and intensity. Bella, being the lamb of course is human, meaning shes fragile, warm, innocent, weak and feeble. Edward, the lion, strong, aggressive, powerful, able to take a life within seconds. The lion would usually eat the little lamb, tearing it to pieces, but in the case, the lion can do nothing more but subject himself to the lamb and love it for what it is.

choices they made (8)

Throughout this whole entire book, the choice and decisions the characters make as individuals as well as wholes determines and spins the whole plot. If Bella's mother never wanted to travel with he new husband Bella would have never ended up in dreary old Forks with her father. Had she not come to Forks she wouldn't had realized how much her and father really had in common but most importantly she wouldn't have met Edward, who would eventually become her life and she would be his. Without meeting Bella, Edward might had continued to live life alone, without knowing the true meaning of love and being able to trust someone. He would have remained a troubled tortured soul in a cruel world of injustice and pain. The plot allows people to come in and out of one another's lives gracefully but still causing a raucous.

how i connect (7)

I feel a strong confection to this book. I can relate in so many ways. Just like Bella i was once a newcomer somewhere in a town most unknown. The people seemed really at first and i was great full to meet a few friends, but after awhile i thirsted for more. I didn't want to be alone i wanted someone to call my own. It seemed everyone has dates with someone or someone to talk on the phone with at night and i wanted hat too. Eventually i found myself intrigued with somebody quite the opposite of myself, just like Bella. He wasn't exactly my type and he did his ow thing, but i liked it. Just like how Bella was drawn to Edward by his obvious self isolation and awkwardness. its the little bleak characteristics of a person that can make them more than speical, who wants someone that everyone else has already had or stalked over?

deeper messages? themes and lessons? (6)

Other than the rather plain and blatant, the book definitely is portraying secret meanings and messages. The one i enjoy the most is the theme of love. How even when people spite you and talk down on you, love will never give up. To be able to have that courage to step out of the box of ordinary and doldrum, and give someone or something a chance means everything. People looked at Edward and Bella, laughed, teased and snickered at how different he was and how everyone wanted her, but she choose him and in a way he choose her as well. Edward had been alone for a long time, since the time he'd been vampire so for him to give love a chance despite what even his family might say he put his whole existence on the line and hoped for the best. Love is the strongest weapon in the worst of fights.

what will come of thee? (5)

After getting deeper into the plot of the story, a few things can be determined.

1. Bella isn't like any other girl or person to Edward
2. Edward has a strong attraction to Bella, but it may go deeper than just appearances
3. There is a hidden and hurt past to Edward
4. Some type of mischief or problem will arise soon in the small town of Forks

Those are just a few ideas i have. The plot is thickening and truths and lies will be told, but the only thing certain, a great love will prevail over all.

that suprised me! (4)

The book is full of different turns and excitements that may catch you off guard. The way that Edward had first responded to Bella was appalling to me. He seemed utterly disgusted at the very sight of her when she had first walked into the class room. He even went as far to going to the guidance counselor to have his classes changed. It made me wonder what could be so repulsive about Bella that Edward would need to stray as far away from her as possible. Did she smell bad? had she gotten something in her teeth? Later we find out what the problem was but at the time it leaves you to wonder what effet Bella had on him and what later effects she will continue to have.
