In life, there are going to be a lot on decisions and choices you make, most of them you wont be able to change. When bad things occur that you witness or have knowledge about, and you simply sit by and watch it
happen, how much better are you next to the person who has committed the horrible crime. Atonement wouldn't be needed if when in the action of something wrong, people acted upon justice and truth and viced out against whatever harm was being done. Some things just cant be forgotten or forgiven, atonement isn't always an option, depending on how severe the issue was.
